Community
St.
James Parish Hospital's commitment to serve the community extends
to its outreach educational and screening programs for citizens,
business and industry. From cholesterol and blood pressure screenings
at churches and schools, and teaching CPR at industrial
plant sites, our professional staff is active in promoting healthy
and safety as a free community service. CPR classes are offered
to the community as well as Safe Sitter classes, preparing adolescents
for safe babysitting.
Puberty classes
are provided to help young girls and boys who are facing the
challenging years of puberty. The hospital offers a free diabetes
patient education program. This program is open to anyone who
has diabetes.
St. James Parish Hospital offers a Diabetic Support Group to offer support and
education to those with Diabetes. It is held at 6:00pm the last Tuesday of each
month at St. James Parish Hospital.
The Cancer
Support Group is sponsored by St. James Parish Hospital along with
the Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. Refer to our community calendar
for upcoming events!
